The fact is that nobody chooses where to be born, what name to bear
or the life conditions they are going to have on Earth at arrival. Only when
reason has matured to make decision on its own can people set direction to life.
It is especially true with today´s Royals, an institution that still exist in
Europe, Arabia and some Asian countries. Like it or not, able or not, they have
to hold their title for the rest of their lives. But as fixed as their position
is at birth, are wide the possibilities their powerful environment sets before
them. They are loved and respected by most of their people; they stand on stage
when the Media is concerned; and - above all - they have at hand, available for
them, all the knowledge, information, technology and resources needed to build
a solid mind. It is, indeed, a privilege very few on Earth have at birth and,
therefore, a huge responsibility.
An ancient, traditional and not too prompt to change institution thriving
in today´s changing world, would need to re-think and redesigned its role for
one simple reason: because they can adjust to the world´s new conditions and
needs in order to use their privileged position for the benefit of their
peoples and of the world at large. Their charm and elegance adored by the Media
can just as well carry the word of Earth greatest needs. Their governments
would do well inspiring them to do so.
Among the young generation of royals taking their position these
days in all the world, William of England turns up to be an interesting prince.
Hurt early by the tragic death of his mother, the paparazzi nightmare, and the
obligations of his position, he managed to grow simple and kind, showing
interest for the world and its peoples. After graduation he went back to
college to study Agricultural and Environment Administration, became a rescue
helicopter pilot, and is President of an organization that
unites governments and non-government groups in the fight for wildlife
conservation at a global scale. The organization he leads provides better on-site
protection for wildlife; reduces the demand for illegal wildlife products;
improves law enforcement; works with the private sector to reduce trafficking,
and engages young people with Conservation. It is a privileged position put to
good use. It is a born free mind. Because more than the beauty of all Earth
species that would be lost should they not be protected, the core of
Conservation efforts is Earth´s Ecological Balance. Every single line of animals
play an essential part in the delicate chain of events that create the
conditions for Human race to live. Conservation is, in fact, self-conservation.
The
fact that this king-to-be leads Conservation from a nation that for many
centuries drew social status and took pride in hunting, certainly makes him a

El hecho es que
nadie escoge en dónde nacer, qué nombre llevar o las condiciones en las que la
vida lo pondrá. Es sólo hasta que la razón madura cuando se puede dar una
orientación a la vida. Esto es así especialmente con los miembros de la
realeza, una institución que aun existe en Europa, Arabia Saudita y algunos
países Asiáticos. Les guste o no, sean capaces o no, deben sostener su título
durante toda la vida. Pero así como es fija su posición al nacer, son también
amplias las posibilidades que su poderoso entorno les ofrece. Son amados y
respetados por la mayoría de su pueblo; cuentan con escenario cuando se trata
de los medios de comunicación; y, sobretodo, tienen al alcance de su mano,
disponible para ellos, todo el conocimiento, la información, la tecnología y
los recursos necesarios para forjar una mente sólida. Es, de hecho, un
privilegio que muy pocos tienen al nacer y, por lo tanto, una inmensa
responsabilidad.
Una institución antigua, atada a las
tradiciones y no muy dada al cambio que navega por este mundo cambiante,
necesitaría re-pensar y re-diseñar su rol por una sencilla razón: porque pueden
ajustarse a las nuevas condiciones y necesidades mundiales con el fin de usar
su privilegiada posición para el beneficio si de sus pueblos pero también del
mundo. Su atractivo y elegancia venerados por los Medios bien podrían cargar un
mensaje sobre las grandes necesidades de la Tierra. Sus gobiernos harían bien
en inspirarlos a hacerlo.
Dentro de la joven generación
real que está asumiendo su posición en todo el mundo, William de Inglaterra
resulta ser un príncipe interesante. Herido temprano por la trágica muerte de
su madre, la pesadilla de los paparazzi, y sus obligaciones reales, consiguió
crecer sencillo y amable y muestra un genuino interés por el mundo y sus
gentes. Tras graduarse, regresó a la Universidad a estudiar Agricultura y
Administración Ambiental, se convirtió en piloto de helicópteros de rescate, y
es presidente de una organización que reúne entidades gubernamentales y no
gubernamentales en la lucha por la conservación de las especies a escala
global. La organización que dirige promueve protección a la vida salvaje,
reducción de la demanda de comercio ilegal, mejora en la aplicación de las
leyes referentes, trabaja con el sector privado para reducir el tráfico, e
involucra a la juventud en la tarea de Conservación. Esa es una posición
privilegiada puesta a buen uso. Una mente nacida libre. Porque más que la
belleza de las especies que habitan la Tierra que desaparecerían de no ser
protegidas, la clave del trabajo de Conservación es el Balance Ecológico del
Planeta. Toda la fauna juega un papel esencial en la delicada cadena de eventos
que construye las condiciones para la vida humana. La Conservación es
auto-conservación. El hecho de que este futuro rey lidere esfuerzos de
Conservación de vida salvaje desde una nación en la que durante siglos sus
gentes alcanzaban estatus social y se ufanaban de la cacería, indudablemente lo
convierte en Jinete de Cambio. / Silvia
