PLANETARY ALIGNMENT
Orbiting Planet Earth
Spock: A specific planetary alignment stressing energies through the entire universe, captain, is showing its effects on planet Earth, the climate being the first to register change. Sun unusual activity will also reach them. At the same time, the planet is being worn out and its population, Human race, is facing troubles that need immediate attention.
Kirk: Go on Spock...
Spock: A new vision for the planet is needed, captain. At present, a small percentage of wealthy people overwhelm a huge percentage of people in need. It is unfair and impractical. The planet itself, the only inhabitable place there is for them in this side of the universe, is being badly hurt. To save it and save themselves they will require the physical and mental abilities of their inhabitants. Being such the case, it seems illogical their having three quarters of the population physically diminished and mentally unable. The majority incapable of seeing the motives and understanding the ways, makes very improbable that the planet is saved. Your decision, therefore, captain, is whether we stay in orbit to help them see or keep our navigation chart and let them drift... SDM ®

A MIND CHANGE
Orbiting Planet Earth
Captain Kirk: Can they handle it Spock?
Spock: They should. But it seems that providing a new picture proves to be especially difficult. Primary needs trapped inside a complex, ever turning, social wheel prevents seeing simple reasons behind decisions.
Kirk: For example…
Spock: In planet Earth, for example captain, food industry creates money and costs rather than health. Education to Humans fills a second line. They seem not to realize that what is costly is not education but ignorance. Struggle for survival is faced by the majority. Earth wealthy population seems to oversee the fact that poverty does not serve anybody, the least them. When food and shelter becomes definitely limited, thousands of millions will look only one way, theirs.
Kirk: Suggestions Mr. Spock?
Spock: What seems to be needed, captain, is a massive change of mind. A vision is needed. A mind scenario where perspective - in terms of local time and space – plays a central roll. Statistics cannot be denied...

AN IMPACT GENERATION
Orbiting Planet Earth
Spock: Captain, stats say that by the year 2050 planet Earth population will face a funnel: a reduced percentage of economically active people among a high percentage of elders. Therefore, in 2050 the active generation, which today are between 8 and 28 years of age, will have to be especially good – an Impact Generation – to handle a world inhabited by grandparents and children. Grandparents, on their part, will have to find the way to cooperate instead of becoming a burden, for what will be at stake is the survival of all and of the planet.
The equation to face such situation seems logical, captain: Prepare the Impact generation and keep healthy the adult population. With that priority, Earth would reach 2050 having a reduced but brilliant active generation, and a huge adult population physically and mentally still able to participate. From that situation their children would have nothing but gain.
What seems to be needed now is on one hand, the Impact Generation be seen not as chosen individuals but a generation as a whole. Otherwise, only a few privileged would have to and may not be able to carry the burden of all. On the other hand, Health would have to mean not the cure of deceases as it is seen now, but the prevention of them.
To accomplish that, the shift would have to be immediate and profound. Present active generation focused on year 2050’s that will be lived and led by their children, the Impact Generation. Their children are just 39 years away, Earth time, from the funnel. Decisions today will decide the future of the planet.

COMMON SENSE
Kirk: Are they making them, decisions?
Spock: Some are, captain, but it seems that a wall blocks them. Lieutenant Uhura will explain.
Uhura: People on Earth communicate through various basic wave systems. Long and short sound waves, images through satellites, and they do use the cyberspace. Thou primitive the means, they are connected.
Kirk: So, where is the wall?
Uhura: Information captain.
Spock: For some unexplainable reason, Human’s global information - what they say and show to each other - focus on what goes wrong leaving little space for building what is needed to face the years to come.
Uhura: A survey of their information during the last years shows they privilege natural disasters, killings, wrongdoings of all kinds, and all aspects of what is not functioning in their organization, very little I found of what actually does work.
Spock: Not that they don’t show what works at all, they do. But information about the main issues at hand – protection of the planet and survival, food for all, water, knowledge and health – get overwhelmed by dark news or by information that relates only to their pleasures. There is no, literally, common sense on Earth. The Impact Generation in formation is being taught, through their media devises, what goes wrong but not how to fix it. Illogical captain. To be continued...

A ROLLING WHEEL
Orbiting Planet Earth
Spock: It gets more complicated, captain.
Kirk: How?
Spock: Present Earth survival structure leaves today two thousand millions people in total poverty, and nine hundred twenty five millions suffering severe malnutrition, unable to participate actively and creatively, a burden in their condition. The Impact Generation will have a real hard job: grandparents, children, poor and sick people.
Kirk: But why Spock, why is this happening?
Spock: It is a complex situation captain, a global wheel with life of its own. What is certain is that 80% of the resources go to a minimum part of the population. An economic global structure that throws that data obviously needs revision. But they, inexplicable, do not do it.
Uhura: It is worse. They keep teaching... it to the Impact Generation.
Kirk: Are we before some kind of totalitarism?
Spock: I don’t think so, captain. Lieutenant Uhura and I have been going through their History and I would not say that is the case. Uhura…
Uhura: Their History from the moment they reach the standards of civilization is quite recent. The script of their story is very much the same all over the years. What has made the difference for them is, on one hand, technology and on the other, exceptional men and women that have shifted the course of history. Though ideas shows variations according to the point of view - philosophy, religion, social or political views - there always have been a common line across their thinking that recognizes the need for fairness, equality and distribution. But those are the lines that get overwhelmed by other type of information.
Spock: Human race sees itself as countries and not as Humanity. Therefore, the vision of a planet in need does not reach them. So, captain, though it is not totalitarism, the Earth that we have come back in time to orbit is not the home you used to know.
Kirk: Which means… Mr. Spock that if I am standing here in this ship, they did manage to empower on time the needed shift to save the planet to the future!
Spock: That might be one of the possible outcomes, captain.
Kirk: What others are there?
Spock: That you and your crew are the only survivors...

A UNIVERSAL PUSH
Orbiting Planet Earth
Kirk: Doctor McCoy you have not said a word…
McCoy: Well Jim, supposing that Spock’s view is correct and we are the only survivors, I am afraid we would have to travel the Universe in search for the conditions we need for living: water and plants. The liquid component required for life and plants providing oxygen, food and shelter, both on Earth are now treated as if they were eternal.
Uhura: Stats say that 14.2 millions of hectares are deforested every year. Today, the planet has lost half of its worldwide forest mass. Only 6% of what is left is actually protected.
Spock: On the other hand, captain, in planet Earth 73% is water but only 3% is suitable for drinking. Even more, only 1% out of that 3% is in liquid state.
McCoy: Another problem for the Impact Generation as far as I am concerned Jim, is that Earth population is roughly divided in two parts: One half follows feeding habits high in toxins that make them sick, while the other half, short of food, suffers malnutrition from childhood. Being so, both sides throw to the planet a huge amount of people in need of medical care, people that cannot participate in the solution or help the Impact Generation. On the contrary, they will be its burden.
Spock: They are trapped in a wheel that has its own mind. Thirst for production and its consequent riches imply taking from the planet their resources while leaving waste. Proportion is shifting from abundance of resources to abundance of waste. It would be logical, captain, to reverse the situation. They would have to figure out a global production wheel that makes profit from reproducing and conserving resources. It would be a global change of mind, a universal shift.
Kirk: That’s a task that seems impossible Spock…
Spock: Then the Universe will make the shift for them….

DISBELIEVE
Orbiting Planet Earth
Kirk: Are they aware of that?
Spock: Scientists are. They do see the unbalance in the main variables, cosmic and Earth’s. Some World leaders also understand that the present situation won’t hold long. Many academics also see it. There are groups of people around the world making efforts to help others. But whether it is fear to create panic, impotence to change the course of the wheel, or fatalism about the Earth future, they do not get together to work openly on a worldwide solution. The task seems too great.
McCoy: Also, for every voice that calls for awareness there are others that impose disbelieve.
Uhura: It has been a pattern in Humanity’s history, captain, that people do not see the wave until they are under it.
Spock: Yes captain it has happened all along their history. Just as Neanderthals could not see evolution until the last one of them succumbed before the Cro-Magnons, people believed that its sun orbited around Earth, that it was flat. Nobody believed that Rome could fall. People died of disease until germs were showed. Even painters did not conceive other view until perspective came into the frame. In all fields captain, it is a fact that on Earth only few can see beyond. Humans call “progress” when the impossible happens, when change actually takes place. However, denying climate thread, an economic abyss, scarceness of resources and the amount of people in need is not logical for a rational mind, captain.

THE IMPACT GENERATION ON THE MOVE
Orbiting Planet Earth
Kirk: We have been asked to decide whether we help them see or let them drift... What do you think Spock?
Spock: I do not believe we should let them drift, captain. The oldest representatives of the Impact Generation in their 19s, 20s, and 30s are on the move in many parts of the planet.
Uhura: That is correct, captain. Youth is out in the streets calling for a change.
Kirk: Well, that’s a good sign. Are they getting anywhere?
Spock: The situation captain is that they do feel and know that a change is needed, but they are claiming their rights within the present structure, therefore, their cry only reproduces it, a life structure that has failed to secure the wellbeing of the majority and the safety of the planet.
McCoy: It’s the same old story Jim. The young striving for a new and different life not quite knowing what exactly that is, or how to empower it, and the eldest scared to leave familiar grounds. On one side there are threads without clear purpose, and in the other defense without clear thinking.
Kirk: In that case, today’s scenario is a positive step for both sides to star doing differently, a wonder moment for the young to build a purpose and for the eldest to help. After all, it will be the Impact Generation’s task to handle this World in just a few years.
Spock: Yes, but the change will not take place while the youth only claim a space or a better share in the world as it is today. A shift in some basic thinking would have to take place.
Kirk: Like?
Spock: There are many variables to be taken in account, but there is one that happens to be fundamental. The average meaning of “success” in the planet implies defeating all others to win. It’s a principle based on subtraction: to rule you have to leave everyone else behind. This principle drives the life of individuals and communities. What is a stake today for the Human race and for planet Earth implies exactly the contrary: gathering, putting together, sharing, joining forces.

THE IMPACT GENERATION SHARES COMMAND
Orbiting Planet Earth
Uhura: Look captain, this image resumes what the Impact Generation is doing in the planet today. Millions of people are out in the streets all around the world. It seems they are actually seeing the planet.
Kirk: Yes, but what is their call?
Spock: Condemnation of the global financial system. Discontent in all parts of the World unites them but their targets are blurred and disconnected. Without clear aims, their move generates fear instead of practical actions needed from both sides, from the Impact Generation and from the generation in command. A confrontation would only worsen the situation and put the planet in jeopardy.
McCoy: I agree, Jim. They have to move as an organism - all of them young and old - in order to state Human race needs clearly and address them in an intelligent coordinated way. Otherwise chaos will accelerate destruction.
Kirk: That sounds right but the Impact Generation is spread all around the globe just as the generation in command.
Spock: There is a way, captain, a place they created to gather. Every culture, every country is represented there. It is, in fact, an organism created to deal with global issues. Given the time that is left, it might very well be their only chance. They call it the United Nations. Until now the organism has been dealing with the consequences left by the ruling wheel that has created the present situation.
Kirk: I see. If the Impact Generation made its way from the streets to those seats or other seats where they can gather together, a fresh global thinking will put on the table the impending issues. The needed shift of mind would take place.
Spock: At least they would launch a coordinated effort to address the complexity of the planet's situation.
McCoy: But it would take ages to get there and I doubt they have such time.
Spock: "It takes a day to make a revolution and a decade to build a government" it’s true. However, the Impact Generation has become one, universal, they have sensed their power which is nothing else that their right to have their say in a World they and their children will have to live in. Should the ruling generation understand it, and share command with minds able to see beyond and eager to develop tools that will decide their survival, global practical solution would begin to take place and the planet would have a chance.
Kirk: Otherwise?
Spock: Otherwise probabilities dictate a 50/50: Either discontent turns into violence and chaos speeding the planet's doom, or discontent is forced still, the present situation prevails and the planet is just the same doomed.

DISASTER SEARCHES FOR A DETONATOR/ Leadership
Orbiting Planet Earth
Uhura: Captain, recent Earth newspaper's headlines give disturbing information: "Europe hangs on a Greek decision", "Euros fate attached to Italian behavior". It looks, captain, as if disaster is looking for a detonator.
Spock: It's physics... any structure brakes by the thin. Forces making pressure on Earth's economy wheel are becoming strong, they will make it halt. Earth population has just reached human number 7 billion. Most of them live in precarious conditions. The clock is ticking.
Kirk: It is difficult to believe. They are running towards a cliff and they seem not to see it.
Spock: Some do. People working within the present order are trying to make feasible and reasonable distribution in order to breed capable, healthy, educated and peaceful populations: the Impact Generation. In fact, they are trying to turn the wheel but they encounter forces that are both self-centered and short-sighted. To follow the development of the situation, I would suggest see what the leading countries are doing. It is essence of leadership to be followed, what works for them will be imitated by others. The leader shows the way.
Kirk: You're right Spock. Leadership at the dawn of the second millennium implies not countries or specific peoples but Humanity itself. Their home decisions will permeate. In fact, every adult human will decide his or her fate. The planet at the edge, peoples from all over will have to think on their existential aim when choosing who's to lead.
Spock: Open, visionary minds working within the system to make it turn are the only hope to turn peacefully and on time. Otherwise... the detonator is out there, somewhere.

/ CHAPTER 11
EARTH AT HAND
Spock: In this world, as it is today, success is measured by money. But when you face the fact that money is available only for some, those that don’t have access to it need to develop a different measurement value. Success in the second millennium is related to survival, not to money. And the fact is that there’s no reason for poverty. Resources shared with common sense will make life less exuberant for some but more possible for all. Happier. Those who believe that just keeping tight their little yard will do, oversee the fact that many thousands of millions actually live in the planet. They will search for what there is out there. Sharing is both saver and safer. They should be able to see it. If not, they should honor Human essence and stop reproducing. Who would leave an empty can to his or her beloved child? If they don’t change now their children will receive nothing.
McCoy: What happens Jim, is that Earth to its inhabitants has always been eternal, an everlasting view. They believe it is everlasting. Humans are so minuscule on its surface that perspective fails them.
Spock: It shouldn’t fail them. Communications of these days give them the resources to see and to know what is happening globally. Greed has become a synonymous for power. Humans accumulate to serve pleasures, to boast and to subdue others, ego attached to down looking on others, a pattern everyone follows, even the now young Impact Generation, a pattern for success that is lethal to Earth. What they miss is that proportions changed a long time ago. Today, the majority is in need and instinct in Humans is a powerful force. When nature falls hard on them as it has already began to do, when food, resources and shelter become hard to find, millions of millions will move in search of survival, just as it was at the beginning. Believing that authority, weapons and force managed by a few privileged will stop them denies Human nature…and numbers.
McCoy: Children today, Jim, must learn sharing instead of accumulating, giving than taking, caring for all instead of thriving to own. Otherwise, they will see violence in a desert.
Kirk: Those that make decision for all, those that hold resources, those that choose the information given, and those that breed today have in their hands the future of the next generation and of this planet.
Spock: Delay in listening will decide their fate. I never thought I would use that concept, captain, but fate of this generation of children depends on their parents love for them, and in their intelligence to save them. I do not mean saving own children but all children. Otherwise, the equation remains unsolvable: a tiny percentage of people trying to repress, simply, the rest… Earth population today is 7 billions. It is estimated that by year 2100 there will be 1.100 million without drinkable water. If they do not believe in fairness, captain, they should trust numbers.
Uhura: It amazes me, Earth. Look at it. Beautiful, a blue star, unique among galaxies, chosen to bear green and wind, seas and mountains, birds, sunny days and snow, butterflies and bees, the only one in this universe. It breaks my heart, Humans, if they wear out Earth there’s no other place.
Spock: It is in their hands.

/ CHAPTER 12
PEACE ON EARTH
Kirk: There are so many fronts to address Spock. Where to start?
Spock: For the Impact Generation to be able to handle a hurt planet that will be inhabited by elders, children, sick and poor people… the funnel, it is needed that their parents stop destroying and start building now.
Kirk: Building? What?
Spock: Survival, captain. They have to start building a healthy senior generation, a healthy and brilliant Impact Generation, and what is needed to face the planet’s winds of change. The first requirement to do that is peace. But peace on Earth, captain, is a word which use and overuse has loaded it with a variety of meanings while leaving behind its most practical sense. The word itself has lost the capacity to enlighten its most vital meaning, which is that it actually permits both parties to live and thrive. It will certainly be an advantage in the years to come. Communities that have not been at war will obviously be in better conditions and more prepared. When unbending cosmic laws get added to the present world critical situation the weakest will be the more vulnerable.
Kirk: You are right Spock, communities diminished by war, whether it takes place at home or abroad, will be in disadvantage.
Spock: I say weak, captain, not in terms of men fallen in battle, but in terms of time wasted to prepare themselves to the days to come. To argue that weapons industry feeds the economy with millions of money is a suicidal approach that puts in doubt Human reasoning. Beginning a war is as disastrous as loosing it. Precious time, resources and efforts are lost for all. Peace on Earth should be for Humans now a pragmatic survival decision. What they do not do now to build strong communities is lost for the future. They will have to choose where they are going to invest their time, money and lives. In fact, captain, peace on Earth is no longer a concession men make to life. It is life. /Silvia Davila Morales (c)

On Behalf on Mr. Spock
EARTH: A STAR
Kirk: Did you want to see me Spock?
Spock: Yes, captain, I just want to give you an update on Earth before I fill up our flight logbook.
Kirk: Go on, Spock.
Spock: Earth population, captain, Humanity, has been always divided even confronted according to many variables: geographic facts, resources needs, cultural ways of organization, and spiritual believes. Language sets walls between them. But the main variable that in their history has always made difficult a harmonious living among Humans is war which happens whenever any of the above variables is touched. When war happens, destruction forces get unleashed and what many generations have built get ruined in an amazingly short time. Those that are young in society building get delayed in a meaningful, vital time, and those who are not in war watch helplessly and in horror the bloodshed and the destruction.
Kirk: But is has always happened in their history, has it not?
Spock: Yes, captain, but it is different now. Although confrontations still happen around the main variables being threaten in any particular Earth spot, they do fall into a different perspective when the one variable for them hit the stage as it is happening: Earth itself. Humans can no longer ignore the messenger – the climate – that has been giving them straight signals of an impending world shift that will impact not some but all of them. Wars in that situation are suicidal for both sides.
So, captain, being that the case, the traditional ways of dealing with confrontations have to be replaced by original views than widens Human concepts. Just as war arises when the main variables – geographic borders, resources, ways of thinking or believes – are touched, so does the situation has its reverse: when they are respected peace takes place. The situation now, captain, suggests that only minds able to encompass Humanity in all its complex, varied content can hold solid peace. When Humanity understands that in the context of their planet there are different kinds of people, varied ways of living and thinking, each building for their own, the forces that make them productive and creative will join and Humanity will hold.
I wish, captain, I could show them what we see from above: a blue round sphere drifting alone among billions of galaxies, full of resources, riches, beauty and imagination. Human race will have to use all their intelligence and might to decide whether or not it becomes in their Universe, a star.
On Behalf of Mr. Spock/ By Silvia Davila Morales®
/ CHAPTER 14
GLOBAL COMMUNICATION
Kirk: But then again, Spock, where to start?
Spock: After peace, perhaps they could start by addressing the world situation as it really is, and with a new language. Just as their lives are developing and changing, so is their language and speech. The Impact Generation already communicates in a cyber-language, a cyber mind. Understanding of the situation by all is necessary if they are to have a peaceful transformation. Some think that the Impact Generation move will fade away as it has happened in the past, but all through the history of Humanity, captain, what changed from time to time was men’s perception of themselves, their relations and their world. What is going through a transformation now is the world itself, the planet. They are wearing it out. The transformation is not just needed but inevitable.
Kirk: … and people in every place in the planet are focused on individual problems not seeing where they stand…
Spock: Precisely, captain, they do not see themselves as Humanity.
Uhura: When they do, interesting things can be found. Look captain. I have been reviewing Human records of the last thousand years, especially those registered in films and video. Although they call it fiction, Humans seem to respond to every obstacle with force. Primal force. Here’s an interesting example. A fictional film record called Star Wars, just to pick an example, propose the ultimate disagreement - a universal confrontation- and the proposal is war. As threatening as it is to the rest of the Universe, that approach is also lethal for them. In most of their transmissions, film and video, physical force prevails over a mind cultured in differentiation. They call it entertainment. The problem, captain, is that Earth audience for that entertainment is, in fact, the Impact Generation. Children and youth are being thought to face trouble with force. When trouble comes for them they will reproduce what they have learned.
Spock: It is illogical, captain. At this Earth age, global communication is the millennium tool to make possible global understanding. Why to teach force when the Impact Generation is going to need exactly the contrary? Besides, global communications today are being handled by them, the youth. Collect the youth through understanding and there is hope.
Uhura: ...and remind women, mothers, that what they are dealing with is the life of their children and a very strong front would form, love is ever lasting.

USEFUL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
There’s another aspect that seems illogical for me captain. Every country in Earth has an entire generation of retired people, men and women fairly healthy, many of them professionals, all of them carrying a lifetime experience in all fields… left useless at home.
Besides from the fact that they will engross at their old age the burden than the Impact Generation will have to carry, it would seem logical to put them to a good use before their grandchildren face the funnel.
It does not seem logic, captain, to waste all the knowledge, preparation and experience of senior people still able to cooperate - not to mention the investment already made on them- when there is such an amount of youngest needing guidance in all fields. There are many easy-going natural life relationships on Earth. Child-grandparent is one of them. The present active generation would have to figure out how to make it work./ SDM

/ CHAPTER 16
BRILLIANT MINDS
Spock: For that and other issues, the shift that is taking place would benefit from the efforts of the best minds within the present active generation. All around Earth a small but very capable group of people dedicate their life to researching, thinking and designing. However, captain, at this time, most of Earth research is framed on a certain statistics virtuosity, useful and helpful to stress sometimes simple truths: a good teacher is better that a bad teacher; cutting trees damage the environment; or breast-feeding babies is good for them. Those capable and powerful minds all around the world focused in designing actual tools to face the upcoming fennel, would be a banner for the Impact Generation to follow.
And given the fact that the planet’s situation affects the entire world, shared information would only benefit the global result. The greater the understanding, the lighter the weigh for all and, of course, for the world’s Impact Generation.
Uhura: Here’s an interesting piece of information, captain. Earth leading community, strong in knowledge, organization and technology, a community that carries a history of racial confrontation, is lead at this time by a man that is not black nor white but black and white. His proposal is change which actually is taking place all around.
Spock: It is the essence of any transformation to breed leadership. Every community should see surface one now. Other ancient, wise and strong communities all around the world would certainly follow. At the other side of the planet there is a huge community that lives by a different philosophy, old in time, carrying ancient wisdom, authority driven though, pushing a new direction. In mid ground there is a wise group of communities that managed to get together, owners of deep knowledge and outstanding determination. In the south hemisphere there are both ancient a new communities, emerging powers, showing fresh understanding. A middle ground found among differences worldwide would create the scenario for world cooperation. The fennel is just thirty- nine years away.
McCoy: …and all those millions of millions of Earth inhabitants that otherwise would create chaos, would have a treasure to search at the end of the rainbow: paradise.
Spock: It would be logical, captain. There’s no reason for Earth to drift.

Year 2012/ Future Generations
The generation that is leaving stage was used to read.
The new generation is not just digital and cybernetic but visual.
Circular history will reach its dawn.
Like cuneiform and Chinese writing, images say it all.
Useless try to pull youth back to the old ways.
In crowds voices cannot be heard
any effort will loose its way
only images that make them think
will tame the wild river blossom the seed.
When gain is not placed in metal
but in what Is to life pure and essential
instinct awakes, survival calls
true knowledge emerges from their own soul.
The challenge of grown ups on Earth
these days seen in a dangerous stage
is not to tell children how it should be
but to dare show them what they must keep.
History given with open mind
will give them a view of where they stand
short-sighted goals of gold and fame
will strike them flat and change their aims.
Men determination to save their herd
will prove critical these days
women instinct to breed and care
is just one of the reasons they should be heard.
When of all the feelings men have at birth
those dark and wild are on the lead
a deep effort to stop their ways
will reveal tools useful and dear.
The planet drifts everyday afar
unbending laws dictate its turn
paradise now or paradise lost
is today call for all. "
